Unichem Laboratories has recalled 96,876 bottles of Depakote generic tablets in the US following cross-contamination with other products, according to information on the US Food and Drug Administration web site. The Mumbai-based company recalled the delayed-release tablets with the generic name divalproex sodium, as metronidazole powder was found in one of the bottles, according to a Cogencis report. The drug-maker made the class-II recall of the tablets through its wholly-owned subsidiary Unichem Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. A company initiates a class-II recall if use of a product may lead to temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences. The medicine is used to treat manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder and epileptic disorders. Shares of the company slipped 0.8 per cent at ₹364.95 on the NSE.

Crisil has completed acquisition of 100 per cent stake in Pragmatix Services Private Ltd on Wednesday, following announcement of the deal on November 15, 2017. Crisil had entered into a deal to acquire Pragmatix Services for a consideration not exceeding ₹56 crore. Headquartered in Mumbai, Pragmatix provides analytics and solutions to retail and commercial banks, financial institutions, asset managers, insurers and telecom companies. Pragmatix provides solutions across the risk, sales, and finance domains in India, West Asia and North America. Pragmatix’s intellectual property includes a proprietary enterprise data analytics platform with pre-configured data models, KPIs and algorithms that offer accelerated business solutions. The stock of Crisil edged down about 0.2 per cent at ₹1,973.30 on the NSE.
