Omkar Speciality Chemicals has obtained a patent related to the process for terminal dihaloalkane granted by the Union Government. This is the third patent grant in a span of about one year. With this, the total number of patents to the company in last three years stands at 5. The patent awarded a legal monopoly to the company for manufacturing halogenated alkane compounds and especially valuable products like diiodomethane and chloroidomethane. This patented technology gives high yield and great purity product output thereby yielding excellent quality products. Shares of Omkar Speciality Chemicals jumped 13.8 per cent at ₹86.15 on the BSE.

The committee of creditors of ABG Shipyard on Wednesday ratified a proposal of conversion of additional 4,56,52,827 CCPS equity shares at ₹50.97 a share. Earlier, it was proposed to convert the compulsorily convertible preference shares at ₹50.78 a share. Shares of ABG Shipyard closed at ₹10.55, against the previous day's close of ₹10.45 on the NSE.

Orient Green Power Company has entered into a share purchase agreement with Janati Bio Power Private Ltd (subsidiary of SVL Ltd) - promoter company for the purpose of disinvesting eight biomass subsidiaries to Janati Bio Power Private Ltd. The subsidiaries are Orient Green Power Company (Rajasthan) Private Ltd, SM Environmental Technologies Private Ltd, Shriram Powergen Private Ltd, Gayatri Green Power Private Ltd, Orient Bio power Private Ltd, PSR Green Power Projects Private Ltd, Global Powertech Equipments Private Ltd and Shriram Non-Conventional Energy Private Ltd. The company had earlier on June 30 intimated the exchanges about these decisions and got shareholder approvals on September 7. The stock closed flat at ₹8.7 on the NSE.
