Shares of Jaiprakash Power Ventures and JSW Energy will remain in focus, as the Himachal Pradesh High Court has approved demerger of the former’s two hydroelectric units. Last year, JSW Energy had inked a ₹9,700-crore deal with JP Ventures in this regard. The acquisition marks JSW Energy’s foray into hydel energy. The court clearance bodes well for JP Ventures, as it plans to reduce debts, which now stand at around ₹60,000 crore.
