The Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) index lost ground during the week as nervousness prevailed.
CSE-40 lost 93.52 points during the week. The local bourse ended higher by 259.12 points during the previous week.
The index opened at 5,619.71 and in the first two sessions, the market gained to an intra-week high of 5,702.56 but it slipped to close at 5,526.19.
Associated Pigments ended at Rs 23.35 and Blueprint Securities at Rs 307. IT major, Infosys Technologies inched higher to close at Rs 2,722. Larsen & Toubro was at Rs 1,316.
Reliance Industries slipped to Rs 763 from Rs 811.65. State Bank of India was down to Rs 1,862.
