Shares of HPCL, BPCL and Indian Oil will remain in focus, as the Centre approved a new pricing of ₹39/litre for ethanol to be blend with petrol. for 2016—17 (December-November). This will be at least ₹3 lower (per litre) than the rate for the current year. OMCs currently pay ₹48.50-49.50 a litre, including excise duty, other levies and transportation cost, for ethanol. In the proposed structure, the price is expected to fall to around ₹42/litre.
