Prem Watsa’s Fairfax Financial Holdings, through its affiliate HWIC Asia Fund, will acquire 49.2 per cent stake in Quantum Advisors (QA), which manages money for foreign investors and is the investment manager of Quantum MF. The capital infusion will help Quantum AMC meet the SEBI-mandated minimum net worth of ₹50 crore, ahead of the May 2017 deadline given to the industry. Prem Watsa, Chairman and CEO of Fairfax, said: “We invested in QA because of its long-term value approach to investing and its focus on integrity and ethical values. With our investment, QA will have the necessary resources to expand its client base and further grow its operations..”
