Shares of Hero MotoCorp today fell by nearly 4 per cent after the company reported 5.41 per cent decline in sales in May.
The stock went down by 3.63 per cent to Rs 2,611.20 on the BSE. On the NSE, the scrip lost 3.59 per cent to Rs 2,612.55.
The stock was the top loser among the blue-chip Sensex and Nifty scrips.
The country’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp had yesterday reported 5.41 per cent decline in sales at 5,69,876 units in May.
The company had sold 6,02,481 units in the same month last year, Hero MotoCorp had said in a statement.
The company said there has been a slowdown in rural economy and moderating wages in the rural market but it has managed to “consistently report over five lakh unit sales month-on-month”.
