IT shares were on a roll on the NSE on Monday morning. At 10.25 am HCL Technologies led the pack on the bourse, with gains of 4.59 per cent. The IT company announced last week that Q2 net profit had spurted 28 per cent. It was trading at Rs 1,874 as against Rs 1,791.75 at close on Friday.

Tech Mahindra spurted 2.48 per cent at Rs 2,939.75 as against Rs 2,868.50 at close last week.

Hindalco Industries gained 2.08 per cent to trade at Rs 142.60. The share had closed Friday’s session at Rs 139.70.

Wipro was up 2.05 per cent to quote at Rs 619 as against Rs 606.55 at close last week.

Cairn India gained 1.93 per cent to trade at Rs 237.35. The share had closed Friday’s session at Rs 232.85.

In the broader market the BSE Sensex and the Nifty fell on profit-booking sales, While the Sensex was down nearly 100 points at just below the 29,100-mark, the Nifty shed 25 points to hover below the 8,800-mark.
