Jindal Steel and Power on Tuesday said it has completed delivery of the first-ever rail order to the Indian Railways. In July 2018, JSPL bagged 20 per cent of the ₹2,500-crore global tender by the Indian Railways to supply long rails. Under the global tender, JSPL was to supply 97,400 tonnes of rails to the national transporter in one year. JSPL started dispatching the first consignments on August 15, 2018, from its Raigarh plant, and completed the delivery of total quantities on April 22, 2019, almost four months ahead of schedule. Shares of JSPL closed 0.94 per cent lower at ₹174.70 on the BSE.
