Shares of National Aluminium Co Ltd jumped 8.2 per cent to an eight-week high of Rs 72.9.
The aluminium producer had on Wednesday posted over five-fold jump in first-quarter profit on higher revenue and one-off income. Revenue surged over 55 per cent and the company had an one-time income of Rs 91.01 crore ($13.27 million).
Nalco stock posted its biggest intraday percentage gain in nearly four months. More than 14.2 million shares changed hands, compared with 30-day average of 10.5 million shares.
