Shares of Jaiprakash Associates and Shree Cement are likely to remain active on Tuesday as the latter is set to acquire the former’s 1.5-MTPA cement grinding unit at Panipat, Haryana for around ₹360 crore. Both the companies informed the exchanges of the deal after market hours. Jaypee Group has been selling its cement assets to reduce its debt of ₹60,000 crore. Last year, it sold the Gujarat cement plant to UltraTech Cement for ₹3,800 crore.
