Franklin Templeton MF, through various schemes, has picked up a stake in Equitas Holdings. According to a disclosure to the exchanges, the fund house has bought 1.37 crore shares or 4.08 per cent stake in Equitas through market acquisition. This will help the Chennai-based firm set up a small finance bank (SFB). It had received nod from the RBI in September 2015 for an SFB. Analysts will closely monitor the development.
