The Board of Directors of Talwalkars Better Value Fitness has taken on record the resignation of Prashant Talwalkar, Managing Director and CEO, Anant Gawande, Harsha Bhatkal, whole-time directors, and Dr Avinash Phadke, Independent Director, from August 9. The board changed the designation of Girish Talwalkar from Chairman to Managing Director and CEO from August 9, for a period of five years, subject to approval by members in the forthcoming annual general meeting. “Girish Talwalkar, related to Madhukar Talwalkar, being his son and that he is not debarred from holding office of director by virtue of any SEBI order or any such authority,” the company said in a statement to the exchanges. Madhukar Talwalkar is one of the promoters of Talwalkars Better Value. Shares of Talwalkars Better Value climbed 4.8 per cent at ₹35.05 on the BSE.
