Tata Motors extended its firm run in the morning session to emerge the top gainer on the NSE by the close on Thursday.
At 3.30 p.m. Tata Motors was trading at ₹361.75, up 2.84 per cent on its previous close of ₹351.75.
Bharti Airtel was firm but off its morning highs at ₹308.65. This represented a gain of 2.24 per cent on its overnight close of ₹301.90. Yesterday, the company announced it had posted a 115 per cent jump in third-quarter net profit at ₹610 crore.
BHEL steamed up to hold gains of 1.43 per cent in late trading. It was quoting at ₹173.20 as against ₹170.75 at close yesterday.
GAIL (India) shed some of its morning gains to trade at ₹350.30. This was a gain of 1.24 per cent on its overnight close at ₹346. In results announced yesterday, the company reported that its Q3 net profit had risen by 31 per cent at ₹1,679 crore.
HCL Technologies was up marginally at ₹1,434.20 as against ₹1,422.30 at close on Wednesday. This represented a gain of 0.84 per cent.
