PV Mohanan, a former senior manager and trade union leader who was expelled from Dhanlaxmi Bank, has filed a suit for ₹1 crore damages against the bank. He filed the case in the Sub Court of Thrissur against the bank’s Managing Director, Chief General Manager and others against his unlawful termination from service and consequent mental agony.
The court, accepting the suit, sent notices to the bank and its authorities. The next hearing is posted for August 8. The termination of Mohanan had resulted in a lightning strike on the very next day of his termination on June 12, 2015, by all bank officers in Kerala; Dhanlaxmi Bank officers went on an strike which lasted for 33 days.
