The number of ATMs linked to the National Financial Switch, owned and managed by the National Payments Corporation of India, has grown by 33 per cent to 75,178 as of March-end 2011, compared with 56,711 as of March-end 2010.
The ATMs in the NFS network include 25,060 of SBI group, 6,270 of Axis Bank, 6,104 of ICICI, 5,471 of HDFC and 5,050 of PNB.
The NFS network has 54 member banks. Customers of these banks can transact on any of the 75,000-odd ATMs for balance enquiry and cash withdrawal, NPCI said in a statement.
