The Government of India has decided to call in from circulation coins of denomination 25 paise and below, with effect from June 30, 2011. From this date these coins shall cease to be legal tender for payment.
Coins of denomination 25 paise and below will not be accepted for exchange from June 30, 2011. Therefore, the public can approach branches of all banks maintaining small coin depots to exchange such coins.
