Both Indian Bank and Indian Overseas Bank have hiked their base rate by 50 basis points to 10.75 per cent and the benchmark prime lending rate to 15 per cent from 14.50 per cent effect from August 1, 2011.
United Bank of India has also hiked its base rate and BPLR by 35 basis points effective August 3. Post revision, the base rate stands at 10.6 per cent and BPLR at 14.85 per cent, according to a bank statement.
