The National Pension System (NPS) has delivered double digit returns in most of the schemes in financial year 2012-13, pension regulator PFRDA said here on Wednesday.
The average annual return that NPS scheme generated for Central Government employees was 12.39 per cent during 2012-13. In the case of NPS scheme for State Government, the average return stood at 13 per cent.
These are higher than the 8.5 per cent provided by the Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) to subscribers on their provident fund accumulations for 2012-13.
For private subscribers, the equity-oriented NPS scheme generated 8.38 per cent return; corporate debt-oriented NPS generated 14.19 per cent, and government debt-oriented scheme saw a return of 13.52 per cent.
The returns from NPS swavlamban averaged 13.40 per cent in 2012-13, an official release said.
