The State Bank of India Officers' Association – Chennai Circle (SBIOA (CC)), which holds its general body meeting once in three years, is holding the two-day meeting at the Codissia Trade Fair Complex in Coimbatore this year. It is scheduled for today and tomorrow.

Incidentally, this is the Silver Jubilee triennial general body meeting and happening during the Golden Jubilee year of the association. More than 3,000 delegates are expected to attend the event.

D Thomas Franco Rajendra Dev, General Secretary, SBIOA (CC), said that a Silver Jubilee seminar was planned in the run-up to the event on November 16.

This seminar scheduled at the SBOA Matriculation and Higher Secondary School at R S Puram in the city will be presided by T K Rangarajan, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. He will speak on 'Public Sector – Temples of India'.

The conference, scheduled for November 16, is to be inaugurated by the Chief General Manager of SBI (Chennai Circle), P S Prakash Rao.

Corporate Advisor and commentator on economic and political affairs S Gurumurthy is to deliver the keynote address.

A book exhibition and photo expo depicting the activities of the association over the last 49 years are also being held concurrently.

The conference would adopt a number of resolutions to give effect to the deliberations on early settlement of wage revision, reduction in extended business hours, absorption of IT on salaries and perquisites by banks, five-day week, security arrangement at branches, rejection of P J Nayak committee report, softer transfer and placement policy for lady officers.
