State Bank of India has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with RML Information Services Pvt Ltd whereby for a nominal fee the bank’s 12 million customers will be provided personalised agri-information on weather, input prices, crop diseases, government schemes/ initiatives, market prices of produce, etc. through SMS and dedicated contact centres backed by a team of full-time local experts.
The service is available on all operators and handsets in nine languages covering major states of India, SBI said in a statement.
RML Information Services provides Reuters Market Light – a mobile-based personalised information and engagement service for agri community.
