Srei Infrastructure Finance Ltd has registered a close to nine per cent decline in net profit and a 27 per cent increase in total income during the third quarter of this fiscal compared to the corresponding period of 2009-10.
According to a company press release, the profit after tax for October-December 2010 came down to Rs 40.24 crore from 44.20 crore in the previous year.
Mr Hemant Kanoria, Chairman and Managing Director, Srei Infrastructure Finance Ltd, blamed the continuous rise in interest rates during the last few months to have negatively affected the profitability of infrastructure projects.
