YES Bank plans to have a branch network of 750 branches across the country by 2015, and 15-20 per cent of these would be located in the South.

“The metro centres are likely to have over 30 branches each in the next few years,” Mr R. Ravichander, Group President – Business Development (South), YES Bank, told Business Line . In all, about 150 branches would be located in the South. The bank currently has 214 branches in 164 city locations and over 250 ATMs. By 2015, the plan is to have over 3,000 ATMs across the country, and a staff strength of about 12,000.

The bank, which had a business of about Rs 36,000 crore in the 2009-10 fiscal, targets Rs 1.5 lakh crore by 2015. According to Mr Ravichander, the bank which was more focused on corporate banking till now will now actively look at retail businesses. “We want our retail business to be 40 per cent of our overall business by 2015,” he added. It targets 40 per cent CASA (current account savings account), an important component of the retail banking business, in the next four years. The bank is also working on retail products, he said.

It recently opened its third branch in Bangalore “to further strengthen the financial infrastructure of Karnataka”, according to a bank's press release.
