Andhra Bank on Thursday said its net profit jumped by 30.18 per cent to Rs 312.78 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2011.
The lender had a net profit of Rs 240.26 crore in the same period last year, Andhra Bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Total income of the bank increased to Rs 2,662.47 crore in the January—March quarter from Rs 1,977.05 crore in the same period previous year.
For the year ended March 31, 2011, the bank’s consolidated net profit grew to Rs 1,267.78 crore from Rs 1,049.66 crore in the similar period year ago.
The Board of Directors of the company has proposed a dividend of Rs 5.50 (55 per cent) per share for the year 2010—11, subject to approval by Government of India.
Shares of Andhra Bank ended the day at Rs 134.05, down 0.81 per cent from its previous close on the BSE.
