Deepak Singhal took over as the new Executive Director of Reserve Bank of India on November 2. Prior to his elevation, Singhal was Regional Director in-charge of the central bank’s New Delhi office. Following this appointment, the RBI now has 11 Executive Directors. Singhal will look after, among others, the Central Security Cell, Corporate Strategy and Budget Department, Department of Corporate Services and Human Resource Management Department. KK Vohra, Executive Director, who was earlier looking after these Departments will now look after the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation.
