Investment bank Equirus Capital has appointed Sunil Ramrakhiani to set up its wealth management vertical, which will launched soon as part of the bank’s growing financial services portfolio.
Ramrakhiani was previously Managing Partner, Crystal Path Capital Advisors, and is credited to have identified and set up Algorithm and High Frequency Trading (HFT) team – AlphaGrep Securities while working as a Chief Operating Officer at Way2Wealth Securities, a Coffee Day venture
“Equirus has established itself as a key player for institutional equities and is a banker of choice for mid-sized corporates. Now we are foraying into new line of business covering alternate assets,” said Managing Director Ajay Garg, in a press statement.
“Alternate assets are gaining ground in individual’s portfolio. It is empirically proven that as a part of diversification, this asset class should form at least 20 per cent of individual portfolio. The wealth team will attempt to build products which are alternate to human behavioural style of investing and replace it with algorithms,” Ramrakhiani said.
