India's GDP for this year is projected to contract by 10.3 per cent, according to the International Monetary fund (IMF). In June, the agency predicted a decline of 4.5 per cent. This fall of 5.8 percentage points is the biggest of the world's main economies. The nation's economy has been ravaged by the coronavirus pandemic, and it registered a steep fall of 23.9% in the June quarter after the government imposed a strict lockdown in March.
