In the recent hostilities between India and Pakistan, the neighbouring country unleashed a swarm of Turkish drones to target Indian military facilities, probe air defence systems, and gather intelligence, according to officials. In protest, marble traders in Udaipur – one of India’s key hub for marble trade – have called for a complete boycott of Turkish marble. The Udaipur marble traders’ association says it has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting a ban on Turkish marble imports, Turkey is one of the world’s leading marble exporters and has long enjoyed a strong foothold in India. According to the association, over 50 marble traders in Udaipur who previously imported from Turkey have now suspended those imports.
