Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarti Parishath (ABVP) has said that its efforts in cyber world, especially in social media, have played significant role in the formation of the new government.
Inaugurating the National Executive Council meeting of ABVP in Mangalore on Monday, Murali Manohar, National President, said that ABVP mobilised people on cyber world and social media. It also conducted debates in social media on some important issues affecting education.
Added to this, it took active role in the enrolment of new voters in the last two years, and created awareness on voting among the youths.
Stating that people have high hopes and aspirations from the new Government, Murali Manohar said people's mandate is in favour of ‘saffron ideology’ now.
The National Executive Council will discuss various issues related to education and of national interest, and come out with resolutions on them. Some of the issues include security of women, and of the north-eastern students in the country.
The meet will also urge the Government to come out with a legislation to stop the commercialisation of education sector, he said.
The goal of ABVP is to take the number of members from 25 lakh to 50 lakh in a year, Murali Manohar said.
