Tamilnadu Foodgrains Merchants Association has congratulated Finance Minister P. Chidambaram for presenting a Budget, announcing various developmental schemes for the growth of agriculture and for many other welcome features.
In a letter addressed to the Minister, it has welcomed the allocation of Rs 1,000 crore to set up the country’s First Women’s bank and for the announcement of priorities, to produce electricity by using wastes.
At the same time, it has regretted the proposal to strengthen foreign direct investment , especially in retail ,the delay in the implementation of Goods and Service Tax (GST), failure to revise upward the individual income-tax ceiling etc.
