Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday hinted at a Cabinet expansion this month.
Interacting with ministers, senior officials and districts collectors during a day-long workshop on ‘Re-Inventing Telangana’, he directed all his ministers to come out with detailed plans for their departments as part of an exercise to chalk out an integrated plan for the new State.
He said he had kept with himself some key portfolios, so that he could personally track the execution of development schemes. In this context, he said there would be a Cabinet expansion later this month.
Currently, he heads a Cabinet with 11 ministers, including his son K T Rao and nephew T Harish Rao.
Rao said the Government will come out with a detailed development plan for the State in the next two months, before the first Budget was presented in September. The plan is being drafted in the context of Telangana, unlike the earlier plans in which Telangana was just another region, he said.
