Jailed Kerala-based PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani, admitted to a private hospital recently for treatment of diabetes, was shifted to a multi-speciality hospital here in the wee hours today after he complained of giddiness.
Madani, arrested in connection with the 2008 serial bomb blasts here, was shifted from Soukhya Hospital to the Manipal Hospital at around 2 a.m. after he complained of tiredness and giddiness, Medical Advisory Board of Manipal Hospitals Chairman Dr Sudarshan Ballal told PTI.
His condition was “quite stable” and the doctors were examining him, Ballal said.
Madani, lodged in the Central Prison here since his arrest in August 2010, was admitted to Soukhya Hospital on January 7 for treatment of diabetes and related eye complication.
The Karnataka High Court, while rejecting his bail plea, had in November last year permitted him to avail treatment in a hospital of his choice under police escort.
Madani is among 31 persons charge-sheeted in the case relating to the July 2008 bomb blasts in which one person was killed and 20 others were injured.
