This follows Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s conviction in the disproportionate assets case today.

The Gopalapuram locality of the city is in the thick of action as the AIADMK headquarters is located close to DMK chief M. Karunanidhi's house. A large number of policemen have cardoned off the area and are trying to stop AIADMK supporters from moving towards the DMK patriach's house.
