The TCS duo of Jayakanth and Srikanth won the corporate quiz, Bustle ’12, organised by MOP Vaishnav College for Women, last weekend as part of its bi-decennial celebrations.

The second spot was bagged by Gopal and Swamy from M&M & Citibank respectively and the third spot went to Francis and Alagar from HDFC Life & Ujjivam.

This was the sixth edition of the quiz, in which 55 organisations competed. Teams from CTS, TCS, Orchid Chemicals, Caterpillar, Infosys, RBS, HCL, India Infoline and many other organisations battled with each other to win prizes worth over Rs 70,000.

The quiz was designed and conducted by Mitesh Agarwal. This year the format for the preliminary round was such that the answers to the 32 began with the letters B, U, S, T, L, E for the first six questions followed by A-Z for the remaining 26 questions.

Some of the questions that the quiz master posed of the teams were: For sheer volumes which company/organisation in India is the largest manufacturer of pickles, instant food mixes, cashew burfi and biscuits? DRDO, for the armed forces. One more such which the teams had to crack was:

Who was the last finance secretary to sign the one rupee note? Montek Singh Ahluwalia, was the answer the teams came up with.

The sponsors for the event were Ratna Stores Tiruchi, Chennis Styles and Designs, Balaji House Promoters, Sam’s Pizza, Narasu’s Coffee, Moti Mahal Restaurants, Elements 5 and Mavis Home Furnishings. Business Line and Chennai Live 104.8 FM were the media partners for the event.
