The All India Council for Technical Education will soon open a regional campus here to meet the needs of technical institutions in Kerala.
AICTE sources said that the new office would act as a guidance centre for over 300 technical institutions in the State.
As technical institutions must get AICTE approval every year, a centre has to be set up to act as a guidance centre for these institutions, the sources said.
The State has about 321 technical institutions, including 150 engineering colleges, 80 MBA institutes and institutions offering ploytechnic, hotel management and pharmacy education.
