AirOK Technologies, an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Madras incubated start-up, has launched an indigenously developed smart air purifier, Vistar.

Powered by Efficient Granular Adsorbent Particulate Arrester (EGAPA) technology, the purifier will filter a variety of pollutants such as Particulate Matter(PM), microbes, fungus and gaseous substances.

Designed for institutional segment, AirOK targets hospitality, real estate, food processing and manufacturing sectors as its primary market for the product.

Built on a cylindrical model, the metallic silver coated air purifier comes in two models, Vistar 450 and Vistar 550, with 300mm diameter and 520 mm height, weighing 8 and 9.5 kg, respectively.

“Vistar 550 has coverage area of 550 sq ft with a filter life of one year, which is twice that of the air purifiers currently available in the market,” said Ashok Jhunjhunwala, faculty in-charge, IIT Madras Research Park, while launching the product.

“We are planning to make this as a ₹100-crore brand in the next five years,” said Deekshith Vara Prasad, Founder and CEO, AirOK.

Priced at ₹20,000, the product will be marketed to residential segment by Delhi-based SAR group.
