Seniority, an RPG Group company and shopping destination for senior citizens, has opened a store in Coimbatore, its first in South India.

The first store was opened in Pune in February 2017.

Seniority has teamed up with CovaiCare for the store here. The outlet is situated in the CovaiCare Corporate office at Ganapathipudur

With a curated product portfolio of over 4,000 products ranging from medical to lifestyle, with the brand ethos as ‘Live Evergreen’, Seniority aims to provide seamless experience through the online (website) and retail store (offline mode). The store aims to address the diverse needs of senior citizens.

Ayush Agrawal, Co-founder, Seniority, said the company's website has attracted over 1.7 lakh customers, servicing 19,000 pin codes across India. “We handle around 1,000 orders a day. This is growing at 20 per cent month-on-month. Meanwhile, we also sensed the need for offline presence.”. Agrawal believes that this segment has huge potential for growth as it has remained untapped. He said the company will look into establishing additional stores in multiple CovaiCare locations after studying the requirement here.

Kunjan Chikhlikar, Head, RPG Ventures, told BusinessLine that Seniority would look to build its own brand of products in a year or so. “There is a huge gap in product innovation and design and we would look at bridging this.”

He said the company is in the process of tying up with service providers, banks, hospitality companies and healthcare providers to ensure hassle-free service to senior citizens.

The company is eyeing emerging retirement hubs in places such as Bengaluru, Baroda and Dehradun for store launches.
