KR Srivats The Finance Ministry has imposed definitive anti-dumping duty on ceramic roller imports from China.
This duty, unless revoked earlier, will be valid for five years.
Ceramic rollers (also known as ceramic pipes or tubes in market parlance) are used in roller hearth kilns to transport tiles from one end of the kiln to the other end.
They are also used in industries that make stainless steel strips/patta to manufacture utensils.
It may be recalled that Futura Ceramics Ltd had filed the petition seeking anti-dumping duty on ceramic rollers from China.
Based on the recommendations of the Designated Authority in the Commerce and Industry Ministry, the Revenue Department has now imposed definitive anti-dumping duty ranging from ‘nil’ to $782.25 per tonne.
