Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has said that Amaravati should have mixed, variegated economic activities with emphasis on tourism, IT parks, entertainment and employment opportunities.
He was participating in a review meeting at Amaravati on the new capital on Wednesday. He instructed officials to create an ecosystem with that objective in mind and prepare a draft policy to attract private participation in the capital development.
Bonds proposed
The officials mooted the proposal of floating bonds to pool funds to the extent of ₹26,000 crore for various projects in the new capital.
He said private partnership should be encouraged in affordable housing, commercial complexes, business and IT parks, tourism and improving infrastructure.
The officials discussed with the Chief Minister the land lease systems, joint ventures, joint development and private-public partnership project options. The Chief Minister asked the officials to prepare a policy “to make Amaravati a hub of mixed economic activity.”
The Chief Minister said the projects should be technically sound and meet international standards. He said students should be involved in structural designs of Amaravati and their innovative ideas should be taken into account.
