Two journalists from BusinessLine bagged awards at the 7th Annual Shriram Awards for Excellence in Financial Journalism.

Radhika Merwin, Senior Deputy Editor, BusinessLine, was the runner up in the ‘Economic Policy’ category for her report “ Can ARCs help ease banks’ burden ?”.

Rajalakshmi Nirmal, Deputy Editor, BusinessLine , was the winner in the ‘Financial Markets’ category for her report “ Commodity Derivatives 2.0

The awards were given away by Ajay Piramal, Chairman, Shriram Capital, on Friday in Mumbai.

Commenting on the awards, R Srinivasan, Editor, BusinessLine, said: “The awards are an affirmation of both the quality of our journalism and the validity of our core editorial values of credibility, neutrality, fairness and justice. A post-graduate with an MBA degree in Finance, Radhika joined BusinessLine seven years ago to pursue financial journalism and complement her rich experience in the field of financial analysis. She actively tracks the banking/financial services sector, fixed income/bond market, and mutual fund space.

Rajalakshmi Nirmal writes about financial markets, agri-business policy and insurance. Over the last 11 years as a journalist, her stories have covered market trends in promoter and institutional investor behaviour, open offers, IPOs, corporate dividends, the India-US stock market link and actionable stories on personal finance and commodities.
