Development can be sustainable only when there is no devastation of environment, said motivational speaker Bhupnesh Guruji.
He was delivering a lecture on ‘Non-Violence and Environment’ at Global Institute of Management in Ajmer, Rajasthan, recently.
The lecture was organised by BL Club in association with energy major Cairn India.
India is a land of many cultures and traditions, he said. People, through various religious rituals, have discovered techniques to conserve and protect the environment. This is the reason that since ancient times people worshipped the rivers, hills, plants and animals, Guruji said.
He added that development can be sustainable only when there is no destruction of environment. Environmental protection means not only the conservation of the flora and fauna but also keeping the air, water and land clean and healthy, Guruji said.
He appreciated the efforts of the Japanese Government to safeguard the Aravali mountain range.
