While the number of candidates that cleared both groups in the CA Final Exam (held in May 2012) in one go stands at 5,075, those that qualified in the CPT is almost 11 times that at 56,091.

The topper in the CPT exam is Mr Vankadaru Ganesh Saikumar of Guntur with a score of 197 out of 200 marks.

CA Final topper is Mr Abhishek Gupta of Kolkata. He has secured 608 marks out of 800.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India declared the results of the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) and CA Final examinations held in June 2012 and May 2012 respectively on Friday.

Sharing details of the exam results, the Chairman of the Coimbatore branch of ICAI, Mr K. Jalapathi, told Business Line that 56,091 candidates cleared the CPT exam at the all-India level out of 1,49,348 candidates. ‘One hundred and forty-five candidates from Coimbatore Centre cleared the CPT exam,’ he said.

As many as 30,976 candidates appeared for both groups in the CA Final exam at the all-India level, but only 5,075 cleared both groups. The Group I exam was taken by 51,002, of which 12,912 qualified, while 55108 candidates took the Group II exam with 16,325 clearing all the papers in that group.

‘Eighteen students from the Coimbatore Centre have cleared both groups in the CA final exam; 23 students passed Group I and 29 have cleared Group II papers. The branch toppers are Ms G. Swathi, with a score of 183 out of 200 in the CPT exam and Mr R. Abhiman Ramnath, in final, with 479 out of 800 marks,’ Mr Jalapathi said.
