Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B) is the first B-school from India to join edX as a new ‘Contributing Member’.
As IIMBx, it plans to leverage new technologies and deliver education via MOOCs (massive open online courses) to a larger population of learners from around the world.
EdX is a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based non-profit enterprise created by founding partners Harvard University and MIT. It offers interactive online classes from the world’s best universities.
“We are gearing up to create the capability to teach differently and edX is a great platform to extend IIM Bangalore’s educational impact across the globe,” said IIM-B Director Dr Sushil Vachani.
“We are honoured to welcome IIM Bangalore to edX,” said Anant Agarwal, CEO, edX. “A leading B-school in India, IIMB will deliver high-quality courses and new perspectives to the edX learning community and reach learners around the world.”
