The National Stock Exchange and the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong (IIM-S), have come together to start a two-year full-time post graduate programme in financial markets (PGP-FM).
Apart from this course, IIM-S will also offer a number of advanced level certifications and management development programmes in financial markets.
Both institutions signed an agreement recently to offer the jointly designed courses, a NSE press release said.
The PGP-FM course will be a combination of general management subjects and specialised subjects in financial markets, such as financial valuation and modelling, equity research, technical analysis, derivatives trading strategies and financial engineering.
Students will also be able to get a global perspective as the programme will include a visit to the international stock exchanges. They would be exposed to simulated market conditions to develop trading, investment and portfolio management skills through an NSE-designed software.
Standalone management development programmes and certificate courses are to be meant for professionals or students from other streams to sharpen their skills.
