The Finance Minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, will on Monday inaugurate a two-day international seminar on taxation.

This seminar, which will be held here, is expected to bring together about 150 representatives from the 30 member countries of the OECD.

Representatives from the International Monetary Fund, World Bank besides senior tax officials from the country are to participate in the seminar, organised in association with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

The topic of the seminar will be ‘Adapting tax systems and international tax rules to the new global environment: Shared challenge for India and the OECD'.

In theseminar, discussions will be held in separate sessions on the issues pertaining to transfer pricing, global trends in tax reform, implications for international tax arrangements, international dispute resolution and elimination of double taxation among others.

The OECD Secretary-General, Mr Angel Gurría, will give the opening address at the seminar.
