WhatsApp Vice-President Neeraj Arora, an alumnus of ISB has instituted a perpetual merit-cum-need-based scholarship for a women student at the school’s flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management.

The first recipient is Salini Tiwari, a dental surgeon from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, who has done work in improving the healthcare facilities and support to the inhabitants of the islands.

She has been serving in the community and district hospitals in rural areas of North and Middle Andamans, raising awareness on oral diseases. She has also devised a computerised system of record collection and data storage, which is extensively used in these hospitals.

Titled Jagannath Arora Scholarship, Neeraj has instituted the scholarship to fulfil his father’s aspiration to support talented and deserving young women professionals pursue a career of their choice.

2nd alumnus scholarship This is the second such scholarship from an individual ISB alumnus. The first was the Phoenix Nurture India scholarships instituted by Amit Khanna, founder of Phoenix Holdings, who sponsored 10 scholarships for students who are the sole earning members of their families.

Rajendra Srivastava, Dean, ISB, said in a press release, these scholarships will ensure that meritorious students will not miss a deserving opportunity due to financial constraints.
