Teach For India, a part of the global Teach For All network, has announced Bangalore as the next city for its fellowship programme.

Teach For India is a nationwide movement of outstanding college graduates and young professionals who commit two years to teach in under-resourced schools.

It already exists in six cities - Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad and currently impacts over 30,000 children directly.

In Bangalore, the organisation will partner with around 35 government and private schools for 2015-16.

“About 50 to 55 Fellows will be placed in these schools to impact over 2,000 children. Teach For India has already signed the MoU with the Government of Karnataka,” Shaheen Mistri, CEO - Teach For India, said.

Mohammad Mohsin, Karnataka Commissioner for Public Instruction, said, “We are very happy to associate with Teach For India in Bangalore. Education is one of our top priorities and it is great to see organisations like Teach For India take initiatives like their Fellowship program.”
