Casagrand Academy has launched first skill development project — LEAD (Learn, Enhance, Advance and Deploy) in Coimbatore.
The project, initiated in association with Sri Ramakrishna Mission Polytechnic College and Nachimuthu Polytechnic College is aimed at nurturing young talent and empowering them for an organised career in the construction industry.
An MoU was signed with the correspondents of the two institutions — C Ramaswamy, Secretary, NIA Institutions, Swami Anapekshananda, Correspondent, SRKV Polytechnic and Casagrand Builder Pvt Ltd this morning
Speaking on the sidelines of the launch programme, Rajeshkumar Ganesan, Senior Vice-President, Human Resource, Casagrand Builder Private Ltd, said this is only a pilot. We plan to take this initiative across locations involving more students in the coming months.
Twenty students have been selected to undergo training in the first batch of this project. They willundergo ninety days of training in civil, mechancial, electrical and plumbing, comprising classroom and practical training for sixty days and thirty days of on the job training modules.
Post successful completion, the candidates will be absorbed by Casagrand, he said, adding “the entire course fee will be borne by us, besides providing the candidates a stipend of ₹7500 during the training period”.
Ganesan further said that the construction major decided to launch a skill development programme as there is a huge shortage of technically skilled manpower. “This initiative would not only help prepare the candidates to be industry-ready on completion of their course, but also help them understand their career growth in the industry.”
“Our sales turnover stands at ₹1,800 crore today. We expect to achieve a turnover of ₹2,700 crore in 12 months and grow it to ₹3,000 cr by 2021,” he said
