Danfoss India's first Centre of Excellence along with an e-learning portal was inaugurated at the PSG College of Technology here this morning.

"This platform would help final year students develop innovative solutions in the areas of climate and energy. We seek to provide students an avenue for experimenting with energy efficient technologies that can help them realise the vision of changing the current scenario from energy demand to energy surplus through this initiative," Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India, said.

He further said that the objective of this initiative was also to ensure that the company got a good flow of talent in the coming days.

The company is planning to more than double its headcount from 500 at present to 1,200 in 2 years.

"We are looking at engineering graduates, and post-graduates in the area of research and development," he said.

The company has instituted the Innovator Project Award for final year students. ''The live testing lab will provide students an opportunity to relate theoretical knowledge with practical functioning and understand applications of the equipment," Danfoss India President said.

PSG College of Technology Principal, R. Rudramoorthy, hailed the efforts made by the company towards expanding academic resources. "The Centre of Excellence will open new doors for our students and make them technically sound and industry ready," he added.

Danfoss has invested Rs 25 lakh on establishing this Centre of Excellence at PSG, Ravichandran said.
