Education Assessment and Rating (ERA) Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation, has introduced a common entrance for engineering, medical and dental courses in nine private universities.
The entrance, Uni-GAUGE EMed 2015, will be held on April 26, 2015 according to Subrahmanya, CEO, ERA Foundation.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, he said the idea was to emerge as an established testing body going forward.
The member-universities inculde MS Ramayya University of Applied Sciences, Reva University, KL University and Karpagam University.
About 4,000 seats in engineering and 300 seats each for medical and dental courses are available in the participating universities, he said.
Students and institutes, however, can also pursue admissions by the own entrance examinations being conducted by the parcipating universities.
The foundation is in the process of expanding its member base.
